All 29 Tulasī stotras and mantras

Tulasī, the holy basil plant, is honoured in Hindu homes as a goddess. Many households keep her in a raised planter, the Tulasī Vṛndāvana, in the courtyard, and water her and light a lamp before her every evening.

In the Purāṇas she is Vṛndā, a devoted wife who became the sacred plant and the beloved of Viṣṇu. No worship of Viṣṇu or Kṛṣṇa is complete without a Tulasī leaf, and her ceremonial wedding to Viṣṇu (as Śālagrāma) in the month of Kārtika marks the start of the wedding season.
