1 / 5

Verse 1

śrīrāmacandra kṛpālu bhaju mana haraṇa bhavabhaya dāruṇaṃ |navakañja locana kañja mukha kara kañja pada kañjāruṇaṃ ||1||

O mind, worship the compassionate Śrī Rāmacandra, who removes the dreadful fear of worldly existence; his eyes are like fresh lotuses, his face a lotus, his hands lotuses, and his feet lotuses of rosy red.

Verse 2

kandarpa agaṇita amita chavi navanīla nīrada sundaraṃ |paṭapīta mānahu taḍita ruci śuci naumi janaka sutāvaraṃ ||2||

His beauty surpasses countless Kāmadevas; he is lovely as a fresh dark rain-cloud, and his yellow garment shines like lightning. I bow to that pure one, the husband of Janaka’s daughter (Sītā).

Verse 3

bhaju dīnabandhu dineśa dānava daitya vaṃśa nikandanaṃ |raghunanda ānanda kanda kośala canda daśaratha nandanaṃ ||3||

Worship the friend of the helpless, a sun that destroys the race of demons; the joy of the Raghus, the root of bliss, the moon of Kosala, the son of Daśaratha.

Verse 4

sira mukuṭa kuṇḍala tilaka cāru udāru aṅga vibhūṣaṇaṃ |ājānu bhuja śara cāpa dhara saṅgrāma jita kharadūṣaṇaṃ ||4||

A crown on his head, earrings, a lovely tilaka, his noble limbs adorned with ornaments; his arms reach to his knees, he bears bow and arrows, and he conquered Khara and Dūṣaṇa in battle.

Verse 5

iti vadati tulasīdāsa śaṅkara śeṣa muni mana rañjanaṃ |mama hṛdaya kañja nivāsa kuru kāmādi khala dala gañjanaṃ ||5||

Thus says Tulasīdāsa: O delight of the hearts of Śaṅkara, Śeṣa and the sages, destroyer of the wicked host of desire and the other passions, make your dwelling in the lotus of my heart.
