māṇikyavīṇāmupalālayantīṃmadālasāṃ mañjulavāgvilāsām |māhendranīladyutikomalāṅgīṃmātaṅgakanyāṃ manasā smarāmi ||1||
I remember in my heart the daughter of Mataṅga, gently playing her ruby vīṇā, languid with joy, graceful in sweet speech, her tender body shining like a sapphire.
चतुर्भुजे चन्द्रकलावतंसेकुचोन्नते कुङ्कुमरागशोणे ।पुण्ड्रेक्षुपाशाङ्कुशपुष्पबाण-हस्ते नमस्ते जगदेकमातः ॥२॥
caturbhuje candrakalāvataṃsekuconnate kuṅkumarāgaśoṇe |puṇḍrekṣupāśāṅkuśapuṣpabāṇa-haste namaste jagadekamātaḥ ||2||
Four-armed one, crowned with the crescent moon, red with kuṅkuma, holding the sugarcane bow, noose, goad and flower arrows: salutation to you, sole Mother of the world.
