बाल समय रबि भक्षि लियो तब तीनहुँ लोक भयो अँधियारो ।ताहि सों त्रास भयो जग को यह संकट काहु सों जात न टारो ।देवन आनि करी बिनती तब छाँड़ि दियो रबि कष्ट निवारो ।को नहिं जानत है जग में कपि संकटमोचन नाम तिहारो ॥ १॥
bāla samaya rabi bhakṣi liyo taba tīnahu~ loka bhayo a~dhiyāro |tāhi soṃ trāsa bhayo jaga ko yaha saṃkaṭa kāhu soṃ jāta na ṭāro |devana āni karī binatī taba chā~ḍa़i diyo rabi kaṣṭa nivāro |ko nahiṃ jānata hai jaga meṃ kapi saṃkaṭamocana nāma tihāro || 1||
In childhood You swallowed the sun, and the three worlds were plunged into darkness; the world was terrified, a calamity none could remove. When the gods came and prayed, You released the sun and ended their distress. Who in the world does not know Your name, O Kapi, the remover of troubles!

बालि की त्रास कपीस बसै गिरि जात महाप्रभु पंथ निहारो ।चौंकि महा मुनि साप दियो तब चाहिय कौन बिचार बिचारो ।कै द्विज रूप लिवाय महाप्रभु सो तुम दास के सोक निवारो ।को नहिं जानत है जग में कपि संकटमोचन नाम तिहारो ॥ २॥
bāli kī trāsa kapīsa basai giri jāta mahāprabhu paṃtha nihāro |cauṃki mahā muni sāpa diyo taba cāhiya kauna bicāra bicāro |kai dvija rūpa livāya mahāprabhu so tuma dāsa ke soka nivāro |ko nahiṃ jānata hai jaga meṃ kapi saṃkaṭamocana nāma tihāro || 2||
Fearing Bali, the monkey-king Sugriva dwelt upon the mountain as the great Lord Rama came searching the path. A great sage’s curse stood in the way, what course was to be weighed? Taking a brahmin’s form, You brought the Lord to him and removed Your servant’s grief. Who in the world does not know Your name, O Kapi, the remover of troubles!

बालि के भय से कपीश सुग्रीव पर्वत पर निवास करते थे, और महाप्रभु राम मार्ग देखते हुए आए। महामुनि का शाप सामने था, कौन-सा विचार किया जाए? आपने ब्राह्मण का रूप धारण कर महाप्रभु को वहाँ लाकर अपने दास (सुग्रीव) का शोक दूर किया। हे कपि! जगत् में आपका ‘संकटमोचन’ नाम कौन नहीं जानता!
अंगद के सँग लेन गये सिय खोज कपीस यह बैन उचारो ।जीवत ना बचिहौ हम सो जु बिना सुधि लाए इहाँ पगु धारो ।हेरि थके तट सिंधु सबै तब लाय सिया सुधि प्रान उबारो ।को नहिं जानत है जग में कपि संकटमोचन नाम तिहारो ॥ ३॥

When You were sent with Angada to seek Sita, the monkey-king had declared, ‘You shall not live if you return without tidings.’ When all grew weary at the ocean’s shore, You brought news of Sita and saved their lives. Who in the world does not know Your name, O Kapi, the remover of troubles!

अंगद के साथ सीता की खोज में भेजे गए, कपीश ने यह वचन कहा था, ‘बिना सुधि लाए लौटे तो जीवित न बचोगे।’ जब सब समुद्र-तट पर ढूँढ़ते थक गए, तब आपने सीता की सुधि लाकर सबके प्राण बचाए। हे कपि! जगत् में आपका ‘संकटमोचन’ नाम कौन नहीं जानता!
रावन त्रास दई सिय को सब राक्षसि सों कहि सोक निवारो ।ताहि समय हनुमान महाप्रभु जाय महा रजनीचर मारो ।चाहत सीय असोक सों आगि सु दै प्रभु मुद्रिका सोक निवारो ।को नहिं जानत है जग में कपि संकटमोचन नाम तिहारो ॥ ४॥

Ravana had terrorized Sita, setting the demonesses to break her; then, O great Lord Hanuman, You went and slew the mighty night-demons. To relieve her grief in the Ashoka grove, You gave Sita the Lord’s signet ring and removed her sorrow. Who in the world does not know Your name, O Kapi, the remover of troubles!

रावण ने सीता को भयभीत किया और राक्षसियों से उन्हें तोड़ने को कहा; उस समय हे महाप्रभु हनुमान! आपने जाकर महान् राक्षसों को मारा। अशोकवाटिका में सीता का शोक दूर करने हेतु आपने प्रभु की मुद्रिका देकर उनका दुःख निवारण किया। हे कपि! जगत् में आपका ‘संकटमोचन’ नाम कौन नहीं जानता!
बान लग्यो उर लछिमन के तब प्रान तजे सुत रावन मारो ।लै गृह बैद्य सुषेन समेत तबै गिरि द्रोन सु बीर उपारो ।आनि सजीवन हाथ दई तब लछिमन के तुम प्रान उबारो ।को नहिं जानत है जग में कपि संकटमोचन नाम तिहारो ॥ ५॥

When an arrow pierced Lakshmana’s breast and Ravana’s son nearly took his life, You, O hero, brought the physician Sushena along with his house, and uprooted the whole Drona mountain. Bringing the sanjeevani herb, You delivered it and saved Lakshmana’s life. Who in the world does not know Your name, O Kapi, the remover of troubles!

जब लक्ष्मण के वक्ष में बाण लगा और रावण-पुत्र (मेघनाद) ने उनके प्राण लगभग ले लिए, तब हे वीर! आप वैद्य सुषेण को उनके घर सहित ले आए और आपने द्रोण पर्वत को ही उखाड़ लिया। संजीवनी लाकर हाथ में देकर आपने लक्ष्मण के प्राण बचाए। हे कपि! जगत् में आपका ‘संकटमोचन’ नाम कौन नहीं जानता!
रावन जुद्ध अजान कियो तब नाग कि फाँस सबै सिर डारो ।श्रीरघुनाथ समेत सबै दल मोह भयो यह संकट भारो ।आनि खगेस तबै हनुमान जु बंधन काटि सुत्रास निवारो ।को नहिं जानत है जग में कपि संकटमोचन नाम तिहारो ॥ ६॥

Ravana, fighting by stealth, cast the serpent-noose over all their heads; Shri Raghunatha and the whole host fell into a swoon, a grave calamity. Then You brought Garuda, the lord of birds, and, O Hanuman, cut the bonds and removed that great terror. Who in the world does not know Your name, O Kapi, the remover of troubles!

रावण ने छलपूर्वक युद्ध करते हुए नागपाश सबके सिर पर डाल दिया; श्रीरघुनाथ समेत समस्त सेना मूर्च्छित हो गई, यह भारी संकट था। तब हे हनुमान! आपने गरुड़ (खगेश) को लाकर बन्धन काटे और महान् भय का निवारण किया। हे कपि! जगत् में आपका ‘संकटमोचन’ नाम कौन नहीं जानता!
बंधु समेत जबै अहिरावन लै रघुनाथ पताल सिधारो ।देबिहिं पूजि भली बिधि सों बलि देउ सबै मिलि मंत्र बिचारो ।जाय सहाय भयो तब ही अहिरावन सैन्य समेत सँहारो ।को नहिं जानत है जग में कपि संकटमोचन नाम तिहारो ॥ ७॥

When Ahiravana bore Raghunatha and his brother away to the netherworld, and all conspired to offer them in sacrifice after worshipping the goddess, then You came to their aid and destroyed Ahiravana together with his entire army. जब अहिरावण राम को (भाई लक्ष्मण समेत) पाताल ले गया, और सब देवी की पूजा कर बलि देने का मन्त्र मिलकर विचारने लगे, तब आपने जाकर सहायता की और अहिरावण को उसकी समस्त सेना समेत संहार दिया। हे कपि! जगत् में आपका ‘संकटमोचन’ नाम कौन नहीं जानता!
काज किये बड़ देवन के तुम बीर महाप्रभु देखि बिचारो ।कौन सो संकट मोर गरीब को जो तुमसों नहिं जात है टारो ।बेगि हरो हनुमान महाप्रभु जो कछु संकट होय हमारो ।को नहिं जानत है जग में कपि संकटमोचन नाम तिहारो ॥ ८॥

You have wrought great deeds for the gods, O hero, great Lord, look and consider. What trouble of mine, a poor wretch, could there be that You cannot remove? हे वीर! आपने देवताओं के बड़े-बड़े कार्य किए हैं; हे महाप्रभु! देखिए और विचार कीजिए। मुझ गरीब का ऐसा कौन-सा संकट है जो आपसे न टल सके? हे महाप्रभु हनुमान! जो भी हमारा संकट हो, उसे शीघ्र हर लीजिए। हे कपि! जगत् में आपका ‘संकटमोचन’ नाम कौन नहीं जानता!
लाल देह लाली लसे अरू धरि लाल लँगूर ।बज्र देह दानव दलन जय जय जय कपि सूर ॥
