Verse 1

हरिवरासनं विश्वमोहनंहरिदधीश्वरमाराध्यपादुकम् ।अरिविमर्दनं नित्यनर्तनंहरिहरात्मजं देवमाश्रयेशरणमय्यप्प स्वामि शरणमय्यप्प ॥१॥

harivarāsanaṃ viśvamohanaṃharidadhīśvaramārādhyapādukam |arivimardanaṃ nityanartanaṃhariharātmajaṃ devamāśrayeśaraṇamayyappa svāmi śaraṇamayyappa ||1||

Seated on the lion throne, enchanter of the universe, whose sandals are worshipped by the lord of the directions, destroyer of foes, ever dancing: I take refuge in the son of Hari and Hara. Refuge, Ayyappa Svāmī, refuge, Ayyappa.

Verse 2

शरणकीर्तनं भक्तमानसंभरणलोलुपं नर्तनालसम् ।अरुणभासुरं भूतनायकंहरिहरात्मजं देवमाश्रयेशरणमय्यप्प स्वामि शरणमय्यप्प ॥२॥

śaraṇakīrtanaṃ bhaktamānasaṃbharaṇalolupaṃ nartanālasam |aruṇabhāsuraṃ bhūtanāyakaṃhariharātmajaṃ devamāśrayeśaraṇamayyappa svāmi śaraṇamayyappa ||2||

Whose name is chanted for refuge, who dwells in devotees’ hearts, eager to protect, graceful in dance, shining like the dawn, lord of the bhūtas: I take refuge in the son of Hari and Hara.

प्रणयसत्यकं प्राणनायकंप्रणतकल्पकं सुप्रभाञ्चितम् ।प्रणवमन्दिरं कीर्तनप्रियंहरिहरात्मजं देवमाश्रयेशरणमय्यप्प स्वामि शरणमय्यप्प ॥३॥

praṇayasatyakaṃ prāṇanāyakaṃpraṇatakalpakaṃ suprabhāñcitam |praṇavamandiraṃ kīrtanapriyaṃhariharātmajaṃ devamāśrayeśaraṇamayyappa svāmi śaraṇamayyappa ||3||

True in love, lord of life, wish-fulfilling tree to those who bow, adorned with radiance, temple of Oṃ, who loves devotional singing: I take refuge in the son of Hari and Hara.

तुरगवाहनं सुन्दराननंवरगदायुधं देववर्णितम् ।गुरुकृपाकरं कीर्तनप्रियंहरिहरात्मजं देवमाश्रयेशरणमय्यप्प स्वामि शरणमय्यप्प ॥४॥

turagavāhanaṃ sundarānanaṃvaragadāyudhaṃ devavarṇitam |gurukṛpākaraṃ kīrtanapriyaṃhariharātmajaṃ devamāśrayeśaraṇamayyappa svāmi śaraṇamayyappa ||4||

Riding a horse, with a lovely face, armed with the fine mace, praised by the gods, the guru who bestows grace, who loves devotional singing: I take refuge in the son of Hari and Hara.

Verse 5

त्रिभुवनार्चितं देवतात्मकंत्रिनयनं प्रभुं दिव्यदेशिकम् ।त्रिदशपूजितं चिन्तितप्रदंहरिहरात्मजं देवमाश्रयेशरणमय्यप्प स्वामि शरणमय्यप्प ॥५॥

tribhuvanārcitaṃ devatātmakaṃtrinayanaṃ prabhuṃ divyadeśikam |tridaśapūjitaṃ cintitapradaṃhariharātmajaṃ devamāśrayeśaraṇamayyappa svāmi śaraṇamayyappa ||5||

Worshipped in the three worlds, the soul of the gods, the three-eyed Lord, the divine teacher, worshipped by the gods, giver of what we wish for: I take refuge in the son of Hari and Hara.

भवभयापहं भावुकावहंभुवनमोहनं भूतिभूषणम् ।धवलवाहनं दिव्यवारणंहरिहरात्मजं देवमाश्रयेशरणमय्यप्प स्वामि शरणमय्यप्प ॥६॥

bhavabhayāpahaṃ bhāvukāvahaṃbhuvanamohanaṃ bhūtibhūṣaṇam |dhavalavāhanaṃ divyavāraṇaṃhariharātmajaṃ devamāśrayeśaraṇamayyappa svāmi śaraṇamayyappa ||6||

Remover of the fear of worldly life, bringer of welfare, enchanter of the world, adorned with sacred ash, riding a white elephant: I take refuge in the son of Hari and Hara.

कलमृदुस्मितं सुन्दराननंकलभकोमलं गात्रमोहनम् ।कलभकेसरीवाजिवाहनंहरिहरात्मजं देवमाश्रयेशरणमय्यप्प स्वामि शरणमय्यप्प ॥७॥

kalamṛdusmitaṃ sundarānanaṃkalabhakomalaṃ gātramohanam |kalabhakesarīvājivāhanaṃhariharātmajaṃ devamāśrayeśaraṇamayyappa svāmi śaraṇamayyappa ||7||

With a soft, sweet smile and a lovely face, tender as a young elephant, of enchanting form, riding the elephant, lion and horse: I take refuge in the son of Hari and Hara.

श्रितजनप्रियं चिन्तितप्रदंश्रुतिविभूषणं साधुजीवनम् ।श्रुतिमनोहरं गीतलालसंहरिहरात्मजं देवमाश्रयेशरणमय्यप्प स्वामि शरणमय्यप्प ॥८॥

śritajanapriyaṃ cintitapradaṃśrutivibhūṣaṇaṃ sādhujīvanam |śrutimanoharaṃ gītalālasaṃhariharātmajaṃ devamāśrayeśaraṇamayyappa svāmi śaraṇamayyappa ||8||

Dear to those who come to him, giver of what we wish for, adorned by the Vedas, the life of the good, delightful to hear, fond of song: I take refuge in the son of Hari and Hara.
